Scripture mandates that God's people are to "select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness..." (Exodus 18:21). Scripture also teaches us that "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan" (Proverbs 29:2). We must inform our people to vote biblical values, even in the Primaries.

The Primary Elections for your state will be held on February 5, 2008. There is much at stake because your state will help determine the Democratic and Republican nominees for U.S. President, as well as other nominees for office that will be placed on the ballot for November. To help your people get engaged, here are four action steps and some resources:

1. Get Registered to Vote. The deadline for your state's voter registration is January 21, 2008. That's this Monday! We are also offering a Voter Impact Toolkit FREE to Pastors (visit www.frc.org). The Toolkit is a one-stop solution for conducting a non-partisan voter registration drive at your church. Please encourage your folks to register to vote so that they will be eligible to vote their values.

2. Get Educated on the Candidates. Encourage your congregation to view the Videos of participating presidential candidates from our Washington Values Voter Summit, which are posted online at www.frcaction.org. (Invitations were sent to Democrat and Republican candidates who were polling nationally). Urge your folks to do their homework, consult other sources of info, and evaluate the candidates in light of their biblical values.

3. Get on your knees and PRAY. Pray for the Lord to reveal which candidates would make godly leaders. Pray for wisdom before making your choice. Pray for God's will to be done. A prayer guide for the elections is available at www.iVoteValues.org.

4. Get to the Primary Election and Vote Your Values. The www.iVoteValues.org website is a go-to resource for the upcoming 2008 elections. Please encourage your folks to visit this informative site and vote their values.

Again, the choices we will have on the ballot in November will be determined by the choices that we make over the next few months - in the Primaries. Tragically, bad politicians are helped into office by good people who don't vote. So get your people registered to vote, get them educated on the issues and on the candidates, pray for God's guidance, and then vote your values! Let us know how we can help.
